Rain or Shine

The largest Thing/Type 181 event meets the largest VW event for the first time.

This year we will teaming up again with The Thing Shop at
The VW Classic.

The Things attending the show will be in a special section just for us and we will have seperate awards from the main show in many catagories.

Food and Drinks are available all day at the show. Plenty of great Hotel and RV lodging near by.

It’s easy to make a weekend out of it. The OCTO Pre-67 VW Bus show on Saturday morning, The Toy and Litature show on Saturday afternoon and a special event on Saturday night to be announced. Bring the whole family!

Admission is $15 per adult, car entry is free. Children 12 and under are free.

Need a Place to Stay?

The Host Hotel for the VW Classic is the Crown Plaza Hotel.
For reservations please call (949) 863-1999 (do not use the 800 number) and be sure to mention the VW Classic for the special rate.
The Crown Plaza Hotel is located at 17941 Von Karman in Irvine.

Need Directions?

From the 405 freeway South:
405 South to Irvine Center Drive exit, turn right onto Irvine Center Drive and proceed approximately 1/2 mile. The venue is on the right-hand side.

From the 5 freeway North:
5 North to Lake Forest Drive exit, turn left onto Lake Forest Drive, proceeding to Irvine Center Drive. Turn right onto Irvine Center Drive and proceed approximately 1/2 mile. The venue is on the left-hand side.

From the 5 freeway South:
5 South to lake forest drive, turn right onto Lake Forest drive, proceeding to Irvine Center Drive. Turn right onto Irvine Center Drive and proceed approximately 1/2 mile. The venue is on the left-hand side.

Want to Caravan to the Show?

Currently we are setting up caravan points along the way. We are looking for Caravan Leaders from Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Phoenix, San Diego, Santa Barbara and Las Vegas. If you would like to be a leader or just join the pack, email us - gmw@rocketmail.com
